International Journal of Arabic Linguistics
The International Journal of Arabic Linguistics (IJAL ISSN : 2421-9835) is an online open access peer-reviewed journal that aims at providing a platform for researchers working on the Arabic language to disseminate their most recent work. We welcome papers on the linguistic structure of Arabic as well as its history and its functions in society. The journal welcomes in particular studies in dialectology, sociolinguistics, historical linguistics, and other areas in which the focus is more on data than on theory. In other words, the journal does not adhere to any particular linguistic theory but rather encourages research on new data that can give rise to new issues, or works that provide new approaches to old ones.
In addition to research papers, the journal also publishes book reviews. These are intended primarily for readers of Arabic who cannot read works published in other languages. We have noticed that many influential studies by non-Arab scholars are not very well-known among native students of Arabic linguistics. Therefore, review articles are required to be written in the Arabic language.
The journal charges no fees on the submission, processing or publication of manuscripts. Papers accepted for publication may not be republished elsewhere without the permission of IJAL's editor

The journalhas become increasingly influential as the subject of Muslim minorities has acquired added significance. About 500 million Muslims, fully one third of the world Muslim population of 1.5 billion, live as minorities in 149 countries around the globe. Even as minorities they form significant communities within their countries of residence. What kind of life do they live? What are their social, political and economic problems? How do they perceive their strengths and weakness? What above all, is their future in Islam and in the communities of their residence? The journal explores these and similar questions from the Muslim and international point of view in a serious and responsible manner.

Du Ponceau, assailing the doctrine of the “ideographic” character of the Chinese script. From that year to the present day, the Journal has brought to the world of scholarship the results of the advanced researches of the most distinguished specialists in the literatures and civilizations of North Africa, the Near East, South and Southeast Asia, Inner Asia, and the Far East. The editors welcome high quality scholarly contributions (in English, French, or German) devoted to aspects of either one or several of the literatures of the Middle East, whether classical or modern.
Our project is eclectic. Middle Eastern Literatures encourages studies of a cross- and multi-linguistic nature that focus on East-West (and/or East-East) relations. Articles that examine the relationship of literature with other arts and media (visual arts, music, theatre, and film) will also be welcomed. The editors encourage the submission of translations of literary texts, accompanied by an introduction and full bibliographical details. From time to time, the journal will publish special issues focusing on a particular aspect of the literatures of the Middle East.
In a wider sense, our project aims at broadening available networks of communication. The journal hopes to promote a dialogue between scholars of Middle Eastern literatures and their colleagues working in other academic disciplines and world regions, and particularly those who are engaged in the study of other literatures (Western and non-Western alike). The aim is to foster an active exchange of views and information. To that end the journal will provide regular bibliographies of books and articles and will maintain a comprehensive book review section.

Oriens
Oriens is dedicated to extending our knowledge of intellectual history and developments in the rationalist disciplines in Islamic civilization, with a special emphasis on philosophy, theology, and science. These disciplines had a profoundly rich and lasting life in Islamic civilization and often interacted in complex ways--from the period of their introduction to Islamic civilization in the translation movement that began in the eighth century, through the early and classical periods of development, to the post-classical age, when they shaped even such disciplines as legal theory and poetics. The journal's range extends from the early and classical to the early modern periods (ca. 700-1900 CE) and it engages all regions and languages of Islamic civilization. In the tradition of Hellmut Ritter, who founded Oriens in 1948, the central focus of interest of the journal is on the medieval and early modern periods of the Near and Middle East. Within this framework, the opening up of the sources and the pursuit of philological and historical research based on original source material is the main concern of its editors and contributors. In addition to individual articles, Oriens welcomes proposals for thematic volumes within the series.

Studies in Islamic Law and Society
Studies in Islamic Law and Society accommodates monographs, collections of essays, critical editions of texts with annotated translation, and reference works whose subject-matter lies within the field of classical and modern Islamic law. Both the study of legal texts and legal discourse and the study of the social circumstances in which law has been and is being shaped - the reciprocity of influence of law on society and society on law - are integral to the series, and works representing either type of study or both will be considered for inclusion. Studies in Islamic Law and Society provides a focal point for scholars researching Islamic law both as a medium in its own right and as a phenomenon inviting historical and social analysis.
